@Answer the following questions:

1. T.6a. Why were holidays not always an easy time for taxi drivers?

لما لم يكن وقت العطلات وقتًا سهلا على سائقي عربات الأجرة؟

@ Because they had a lot of work taking people from house to house.

لأنه كان لديهم الكثير من العمل لتوصيل الناس من منزل إلى آخر.

1. SB.  Why do you think that the rich man did not apologise to Jerry when he had to wait for him in the cold?في رأيك، لما لم يعتذر الرجل الثري لجيري عندما اضطر لانتظاره في البرد؟      

@ The rich man probably thought that it was Jerry’s job to wait for him. He did not think that this might be difficult for Jerry and Black Beauty.

من المحتمل أن الرجل الثري اعتقد أنها وظيفة جيري أن ينتظر. لم يكن يعتقد أن ذلك الأمر صعبا على جيري و بيوتي.

2. SB. Do you think that the man should pay Jerry for the time he waited outside the house? Why? / Why not?      في رأيك هل يجب على الرجل أن يدفع لجيري مقابل انتظاره بالخارج؟ لما ؟ لما لا؟

@ Yes, he should pay him. If Jerry did not wait, he could take other passengers to places and get more money.نعم. لأنه اذا لم يكن في انتظاره، كان باستطاعته توصيل ركاب آخرين.                

3. T.6b. Why do you think that Jerry became ill?في رأيك لما أصيب جيري بالمرض؟                   

@ He had to wait outside the house of a rich man and it was very cold.

لأنه اضطر لانتظار الرجل الثري خارج المنزل و كان الطقس باردًا جدًا.

4. T.6b. Why do you think that Black Beauty was worried when Jerry found work with Mrs Fowler?في رأيك لما شعر بلاك بيوتي بالقلق عندما وجد جيري فرصة للعمل عند السيدة فاولر؟          

@ Because he was becoming old and he knew that he might have more difficult work to do in the future.لأنه كان قد تقدم في العمر و ربما يكون هناك عملا صعبا ينتظره في المستقبل.            

5. SB. Why do you think that Skinner makes Black Beauty work so hard?

في رأيك لما جعل سكينر بلاك بيوتي يعمل بشدة؟  

@ He was very poor and had to work hard to get enough money to live. He probably did not think that the health of his horse was important.لأنه كان فقيرًا و يريد المال الكافي لكي يعيش.

6.  SB.  At the station, do you think that Skinner knew that Black Beauty was too weak to carry the family and their bags? Why? / Why not?

عندما كانا في المحطة، في رأيك ، هل كان يعرف سكينر أن بلاك بيوتي ضعيفًا جدًا لحمل العائلة و الحقائب؟ لما؟ لما لا؟

@ I think that he knew, although he told the girl that Black Beauty was OK. However, he needed to take the family to get more money.

نعم، بالرغم من أنه قال للفتاة أن بيوتي بخير. لأنه كان يريد توصيلهم و الحصول على المال.

7. T.6a. Why do you think that Skinner told the girl not to worry after she said that Black Beauty looked too weak to carry their bags?لماذا أخبر سكينر الفتاة ألا تقلق بشأن بلاك بيوتي؟    

@ I think because he didn't want to lose money. He had to work for seven days a week to get enough money, even when his horses were weak or ill.

أعتقد لأنه لم يكن يريد أن يخسر المال. فهو يعمل 7 أيام أسبوعيا لكي يحصل على المال حتى لو كانت خيوله مريضة.

1. Do you think Polly was a good wife? Why?  Why not?في رأيك هل كانت بولي زوجة جيدة؟       

@ Yes, because she always helped her husband , Jerry. نعم لأنها كانت دائما تساعد زوجها جيري. 

2. What do you think might have happened if Black Beauty continued to work for Skinner a longer time? في رأيك، ماذا كان سيحدث اذا استمر بلاك بيوتي في العمل لدي سكينر لمدة طويلة؟          

@ He might have died.   ربما كان سيموت.                                                                          

3. Was Skinner right to sell Black Beauty? Why / Why not?           هل كان سكينر محقًا عندما باع بيوتي؟

@ Yes, because Black Beauty was becoming old. نعم ، لأن بلاك بيوتي أصبح عجوزا.                  

4. Do you think that Skinner and Filcher were kind to Beauty? Why? Why not?

@ No, because Filcher stole his food and Skinner didn’t give him good food or rest.

1. T.6a. Why do you think that Black Beauty was sold at the part of the market where the horses were old or ill-looking?في رأيك، لماذا تم وضع بلاك بيوتي بجانب الخيول المتقدمة في العمر ؟  

@ Because Black Beauty had been ill and now he looked old.

لأنه كان مريضًا و عجوزًا.         

3. SB. Did you enjoy Black Beauty? What was your favourite part of the story? Did you learn anything from the story?

هل استمتعت بقصة بلاك بيوتي؟ ما هو الجزء المفضل عندك في القصة؟ هل تعلمت شيئا من القصة؟

@ Yes, I did. My favourite part of the story when Black Beauty worked for Jerry.

     I learnt that we should be patient and work hard. We should take care of working animals.

نعم استمتعت. الجزء المفضل لدي عندما كان يعمل لدي جيري.

تعلمت من القصة أنه يجب علينا أن نتحلى بالصبر و أن نعمل بجد. و أيضا يجب علينا أن نعتني بالحيوانات العاملة.

4. In your opinion, how should people treat the animals that work for them?

في رأيك، كيف يجب على الناس معاملة الحيوانات العاملة لديهم؟

@ I think they should take care of them. They should give them good food and rest.

أعتقد أنه يجب عليهم الاعتناء بهم. و يجب تقديم الطعام الجيد و اعطائهم الراحة.

5. Do you think the story had a happy ending? How?          

@ Yes, because he was happy with Miss Blomefield and his troubles were over.

انتهت بسعادة لأنه كان سعيدا مع الانسة بلومفيلد و قد انتهت مشاكله.

Treasure Island 3 جزيرة الكنز فصل 3 The next morning, Mr Trelawney asked me to take a note to Long John Silver. I went to the inn which Silver owned. It was full of people, but I soon saw a tall, strong man with one leg. He looked very happy and seemed to know all of the people there. I walked up to him and gave him the note. When he saw that it was from Mr Trelawney, he looked surprised and said, “Ah, you must be the new ship’s boy!” At that moment, one of the men in the inn quickly left the room.
